160+ All Inclusive Resorts to Book With Points: Ultimate Guide 2023 [with Map]

Categories: Maps, Redeeming Points, Where to Stay with PointsBy Last Updated: February 21, 2024

Booking all inclusive resorts with points is one of my favorite uses for my hotel points since it makes the vacation even closer to free. It is also a great vacation for families who want to stick to a budget because besides food and drink being included, activities and entertainment are usually included. And an added bonus for parents: free childcare in a Kids Club!

Our family has stayed eight times at all-inclusive resorts using points. Our favorite spot is the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, where we’ve visited 4 times. We love the ceviche, the beach, the pools, and the entertainment!

Check out the map below of all the all inclusive resorts you can book with major hotel loyalty programs, as well as how to earn the points to book.

Which hotel program is best for all inclusive resorts?

Hyatt is the best overall hotel loyalty program for booking all inclusive stays with points. It has the largest number of all inclusive resorts you can book with points with nearly 100 properties currently bookable and more being added. Hyatt points are fairly easy to earn due to options with Hyatt branded cards from Chase, as well as the option to transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards® from a card like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card to your Hyatt account.

If you book a Category A property at off-peak rates (like we did when we visited the Dreams Palm Beach property in Punta Cana), it can cost as little as 12,000 Hyatt points per night. That property has now been demolished but there are other Category A resorts.

Hyatt isn’t the only option — you can also book all-inclusive stays with Hilton, Marriott, Choice, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Wyndham.

Our favorite restaurant at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun is Habanero’s where you can enjoy ceviche right on the beach while your kids play nearby.

This map is best viewed full screen from a computer.

Click the [ ] in the top right corner to view in another window. This is the best way to see it.

You will then be able to sort by hotel chain. Hyatt hotels have been divided according to pricing categories. Category A is the cheapest for Hyatt. Click on a property to see details.

Tips on Finding Availability

For best availability, book up to a year in advance. Also check frequently for available rooms. In my experience, some of the Hyatt Ziva properties will have no rooms available on points and then a few weeks later may open up for many dates. So keep checking if what you are looking for is unavailable.

You can also make your life easy by looking for room availability and setting up available room alerts with StayWithPoints.com or MaxMyPoint.com

Booking tips are noted for each individual property including occupancy limits if we know them.

In general, even if you’re booking for a family, I suggest searching for 2 adults. Some of the properties will not allow you to book 2 adults and 2 children into a room while paying with points (even if occupancy allows this).

130 All Inclusive Resorts With Points

If you book for 2 adults, you will have to pay to add your children. With Hyatt, you can choose to pay with points or with a credit card on arrival. Generally we prefer to save our points and pay with our credit card. If you want to add the children with points, you will need to call World of Hyatt or send them a DM on Twitter.

If the cost to add children to a room is known, it is noted on the map at each resort. If you’ve stayed at a resort and know the fee to add a child, let me know in the comments.

Which All-Inclusive Resorts Sleep 5+?

Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana (in Punta Cana) is the only one on this map that usually pulls up the ability to sleep 5 in a standard room. In practice, some families have been able to sleep 5 at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. Availability will not show if you search 2 adults and 3 children. You will need to search for 2 adults and call Hyatt to add the kids later.

If you have a larger family, a better option may be to just book 2 rooms. Each room includes double occupancy so if you are paying for your kids with points, you may as well have the extra room anyway! The price of adding 2 kids with points is the same as booking a second room.

How to earn Hyatt points

The way to earn Hyatt points the quickest is by opening a card that earns Hyatt points or Chase Ultimate Rewards® point. Chase Ultimate Rewards® transfer to Hyatt at a ratio of 1:1. This means if you transfer 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points you will have 1,000 Hyatt points.

Keep in mind the Chase 5/24 rule if you want to apply.

Or follow this simple plan if you’re a beginner.

130 All Inclusive Resorts With Points
We were the first guests to stay at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana (now closed) after it was added to the World of Hyatt program and the management staff greeted us with drinks! Off peak rates costs just 12,000 points per night. We paid $65 per kid per night to add the kids as well.

Best Personal Cards for Hyatt Points

The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card typically has a sign up bonus of 60,000 points after you spend $4,000 in 3 months. The most recent higher bonus was 80,000 points in spring 2022.

The World of Hyatt card hasn’t seen a different bonus in years. It’s not a great offer but a good option for opening if you like Hyatt.

Even better, both cards have referral bonuses! If you open one, you can then refer a friend (or a spouse!) to the same card. They will earn their own bonus and you’ll get a referral bonus.

The Chase Freedom Unlimited® is another great way to get a big chunk of points and keep earning Ultimate Chase Rewards®. The bonus says it earns “cash back” but really this is given as Chase Ultimate Rewards® points that can only be redeemed for cash back. If you earn $200 cash back, that is 20,000 Ultimate Rewards points. If you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, you can then combine the points (and move them over to the Sapphire card). From there, you can transfer to Hyatt!

If you apply using one of my affiliate links, I love to hear from you and say thanks to you personally for supporting my business, so send me an email or DM on Instagram.

A publicly available online offer for 80,000 points ran from March 2023-May 2023. Another 80,000 point bonus ended in Fall 2022. Standard bonus is 60,000 points.

An offer for 100,000 points ended in Fall 2021.

Annual Fee:

$95

  • Provides 1 free night certificate every year on account anniversary (up to a category 4 hotel)
  • If you spend $15,000 per year on the card you will earn an additional free night certificate

This offer is not very exciting but we haven’t seen much difference on this since 2019. I love keeping this card for the annual hotel night certificate. Personally, I’d only plan to complete the first half of this offer and not spend the full $18,000 — just the first $3,000. I keep it on my best offer page because I still think the card is worth getting.

We haven’t seen a better offer since 2019 when it offered 40K after $3K in 3 months + 20K after $6K total in 6 months. From 2019-January 2024, the offer was 30k. This offer is just 5,000 points higher.

Business Cards for Hyatt Points (DON’T SKIP THIS!)

Chase offers very similar cards in business versions as it does in personal versions. Similar to the personal cards, you could refer a spouse or a friend to the card once you have it.

This means you have even MORE opportunities to earn points. This is one of the biggest ways we earn millions of points.

Think you don’t qualify for these cards? Read more here.

Chase Ink cards are our favorite option when we have larger expenses coming that help us to meet the higher minimum spend. This card will allow you to transfer its points to all of Chase’s travel partners like Hyatt, United, Southwest, and more.

(If you have a Chase Ink Business Premier℠ Credit Card you cannot combine the points.)

For many years, the bonus on this card offered $500 after you spent $3000 in 3 months. The offer changed to $750 after spending $7500 in 3 months during the pandemic. In fall 2022, the offer went to $900 after spending $6,000 in 3 months and ended in March 2023. From September 2023-January 2024, the $900 offer returned.

The tiered offer which gives you a total of 6 months to spend the $6000 needed to earn $750 debuted in March 2024.

welcome offer:

60,000 points

60,000 Bonus Points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.

Annual Fee:

$199

  • 5 Tier-Qualifying night credits toward status and Milestone rewards for every $10,000 you spend in a calendar year
  • Earn 2 Bonus Points total per $1 spent in your top three spend categories each quarter through 12/31/24
  • Spend $50 or more at any Hyatt property and earn $50 statement credits up to two times each anniversary year.
  • Spend $50,000 in a calendar year and get 10% of your redeemed points back for the rest of the year, on up to 200,000 points redeemed.

For us, this is a card we looked at primarily for the bonus. I don’t like that it has a higher annual fee and doesn’t come with an annual free night. This card is a great option for high spenders on a business card – you can earn Globalist status just through spending — IF you are a business that spends $10,000 a month.

When this card was released, it had an offer for 75k points that required $10,000 spend. In fall 2021 and 2022, it also offered double elite night credits. The standard offer is 60,000 points after spending $5,000. In fall 2023, there was an offer that added another 15k points for spending $12,000 total. This matches that fall 2023 offer.

How to earn Marriott Points

The way to earn Marriott points the quickest is by opening a card that earns Marriott points. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards® or American Express Membership Rewards® to Marriott. This can be a good use if you need a few more points for a redemption, but otherwise not often a great value.

Marriott does offer a 5th night free when you book with points. Your cheapest night out of five consecutive nights will be free.

Keep in mind the Chase 5/24 rule if you want to apply. And read the terms carefully before you apply. Essentially if you have any Marriott card from Chase you won’t be able to get the bonus on a Marriott card from American Express and vice versa.

130 All Inclusive Resorts With Points
Rooms at Planet Hollywood Costa Rica can be booked for as little as 52,000 Marriott points per night for double occupancy. Kids are charged an additional $73 per child per night.

Personal Cards for Marriott Points

Marriott card offers can vary widely throughout the year. There are also strict rules that will prohibit you from earning a bonus on a Marriott card from Chase and American Express — read the terms of the card offers to confirm that you qualify.

When the Boundless card from Chase often offers free night certificates worth up to 50,000 points as a sign up bonus these can sometimes be used for all-inclusives! These can be “topped off” with up to 15,000 additional points. Some of the all-inclusives would be bookable with these certificates. But keep in mind that these certificates expire one year after you receive them.

Current Bonus:

Earn 3 free night awards

Earn 3 Free Night Awards (each night valued up to 50,000 points) after you spend $3,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from your account opening.

Annual Fee:

$95

(Terms Apply)

  • Earn up to 17X total points per $1 spent at thousands of hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy® with the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Card.
  • Earn 3X Bonvoy points per $1 on the first $6,000 spent in combined purchases each year on grocery stores, gas stations, and dining.
  • 1 Free Night Award annually after your Card account anniversary (up to 35k)
  • After holding this card for 1 year, you can upgrade to the Ritz Carlton card, which is one option for families to get airport lounge access.

If you like Marriott, this is a solid card to get and then hold on to — we find that the annual free night is easy to redeem at hotels that cost $250+ per night. That’s a half price hotel! Some people prefer the welcome bonus that includes certificates for up to 50k per night, but keep in mind these expire within a year of earning so you need to have a redemption in mind. Check out my map of family friendly Marriotts for inspiration.

Bonus fluctuates from 75,000 bonus points and up. Sometimes the bonus is 3 or 5 free night certificates for up to 50k per night. Note that personal referral offers often don’t match the best available offer.

Current Bonus:

185,000 points

Earn 185,000 Marriott Bonvoy bonus points after you use your new Card to make $6,000 in purchases within the first 6 months of Card Membership.

Annual Fee:

$650

(Terms Apply | Rates & Fees)

  • Complimentary Platinum Elite status
  • Enroll in Priority Pass™ Select, which offers unlimited airport lounge visits to over 1,200 lounges in over 130 countries, regardless of which carrier or class you are flying. This allows you to relax before or between flights. You can enjoy snacks, drinks, and internet access in a quiet, comfortable location.
  • 1 Free Night Award annually after your Card account anniversary (up to 50k)
  • Each calendar year after spending $60,000 on eligible purchases, Card Members are eligible to select an Earned Choice Award benefit. Benefit options include: Five (5) Suite Night Awards, 85K Free Night Award, and mattress and box spring $1,000 discount from Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques. Certain hotels have resort fees.
  • $100 Marriott Bonvoy Property Credit: Enjoy your stay. Receive up to a $100 property credit for qualifying charges at The Ritz-Carlton® or St. Regis® when you book direct using a special rate for a two-night minimum stay using your Card.
  • Each calendar year with your Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card you can receive 25 Elite Night Credits toward the next level of Marriott Bonvoy® Elite status. Limitations apply per Marriott Bonvoy member account. Benefit is not exclusive to Cards offered by American Express. Terms apply

High annual fee on this card but you have a potential to get some great benefits, too. This bonus does have huge potential but you’d need to have paid Marriott nights to get the full bonus. I personally am skipping this one but that’s due to not being focused on Marriott at this time.

Bonus fluctuates from 75,000 bonus points and up. Best recent welcome bonus of 150,000 points after spending $6,000 in 3 months ended August 2023.

How to earn Hilton Points

The way to earn Hilton points for all inclusive resorts the quickest is by opening a card that earns Hilton points. You can also transfer American Express Membership Rewards® to Hilton. Like Marriott, that can be a good use if you need a few more points for a redemption, but otherwise not often a great value.

If you really can’t stomach the annual fee of the Venture X, the Venture has a similar offer and a lower $95 fee! Points have the same uses as the Venture X.

Don’t let the annual fee of $395 scare you. The $300 annual travel credit and a slew of other benefits make this card a keeper. Plus you’ll immediately up your travel game with airport lounge access and Hertz Presidents’ Club status. Read my complete guide here.

When this card was released in November 2021, it had a 100,000 miles bonus offered (with a $10,000 spend requirement over 6 months). Since March 2022, it has had the same 75,000 mile bonus offer.

Starting October 6, 2023 – a new 90k offer was available exclusively through select referral links. This ended early in December 2023.

Wyndham has some good hotels but my favorite use is to use the points to book Vacasa vacation rentals. When you hold this card, you’ll get a 10% discount which means each night at a one bedroom Vacasa costs just 13,500 points. Barclay seems to prefer people to be at 6/24 or less. This does add to your 5/24 count.

This card’s standard offer is 45,000 points. In 2021, they ran an offer with 90,000 bonus points. 100,000 points is the all time high!

  • Earn 15,000 bonus points on account anniversary
  • 8 points per dollar on gas
  • Automatic Diamond status which gives free upgrades
  • Status match to Caesar’s Diamond for a free 5 night stay at Atlantis Bahamas
  • Great for booking vacation rental homes.

This is a keeper for us. The 15,000 points on account anniversary easily offers more than $95 of value. I actually prefer it to getting a free night certificate because it doesn’t expire in a year. Great earning on gas purchases. And. with the Caesar’s status you get, you can get 4 nights at the Atlantis each year!

The standard bonus is 45,000 points and seems to raise once a year. In 2021 we saw a bonus of 90,000 points. The 100,000 point bonus is best ever but requires a high spending for full bonus.

How to earn Choice points

The way to earn Choice points for all inclusive resorts the quickest is by opening a card that earns Choice points or transferring from a card that earns Venture miles or Citi Thank You points. Citi ThankYou® Points offer the best value as they transfer 1:2. This means that 1,000 Thank You points becomes 2,000 Choice points.

Citi has been very stingy with approvals for this card so this is a good one to get early on. The extended warranty is the best of all the starter cards and offers an additional 2 years of protection on items you purchase. This card often raises the bonus to 80,000 points so if you’re not in a rush for the points, it can be worth waiting for a higher offer.

Standard offer on this card is 60,000 points. We have seen 80,000 point offers as well — the last one expired in January 2023.

welcome offer:

75,000 miles

Earn 75,000 bonus miles when you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening, equal to $750 in travel

Annual Fee:

$395

  • $300 annual travel credit when booking through Capital One’s portal
  • 10,000 points every year on account anniversary (worth at least $100)
  • Statement credit for Global Entry or TSA Precheck
  • Easy airport lounge access for your whole family
  • Miles can be redeemed to erase any travel purchase. 75,000 miles = $750
  • Can be transferred to a variety of partners like Jet Blue, Wyndham, Avianca, Turkish Airways and more.
  • Get my downloadable checklist here so you can max your benefits

Don’t let the annual fee of $395 scare you. The $300 annual travel credit and a slew of other benefits make this card a keeper. Plus you’ll immediately up your travel game with airport lounge access and Hertz Presidents’ Club status. Read my complete guide here.

When this card was released in November 2021, it had a 100,000 miles bonus offered (with a $10,000 spend requirement over 6 months). Since March 2022, it has had the same 75,000 mile bonus offer.

Starting October 6, 2023 – a new 90k offer was available exclusively through select referral links. This ended early in December 2023.

welcome offer:

75,000 miles

Earn 75,000 bonus miles when you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening, equal to $750 in travel

Annual Fee:

$95

  • Miles can be redeemed to erase any travel purchase. 50,000 miles = $500
  • Can be transferred to a variety of partners like Jet Blue, Wyndham, Avianca, Turkish Airways and more
  • Also worth considering the Venture X which has more benefits and the same offer.

If you really can’t stomach the annual fee of the Venture X, the Venture has a similar offer and a lower $95 fee! Points have the same uses as the Venture X.

An offer expired in July 2021 for a total of 100K: 50K after $3K in the first 3 months + 20K after $20K in the first 6 months.

How to earn IHG One Rewards points

The way to earn IHG points the quickest is by opening a card that earns IHG points. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards®. Keep in mind that can be a good use if you need a few more points for a redemption, but otherwise not often a great value.

IHG does offer a 4th night free when you book with points and hold an IHG Premier card. Your fourth night out of four consecutive nights will be free.

Keep in mind the Chase 5/24 rule if you want to apply.

130 All Inclusive Resorts With Points
We have stayed at this property in Jamaica twice. Two kids 12 and under stay free which makes it easy to afford with points! Standard rates are 50,000 points per night and if you hold the IHG Premier card, your 4th night will be free.

Personal Cards for IHG Points

  • Platinum Elite status as long as you remain a Premier card member
  • Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Fee Credit of up to $100 every 4 years as reimbursement for the application fee charged to your card

This is a great way to earn some IHG points! You will get TSA Precheck or Global Entry, Platinum Elite status (which can give you room upgrades), and 4th night free when you book with points.

IHG has a large footprint in Europe of hotels that sleep 4. You can also check out my map of Holiday Inn Vacation Clubs — they have villas with kitchens and some sleep 6. We often use IHG points at Holiday Inn Express, avid, or Staybridge Suites on road trips. Or love a stay at a Kimpton.

140,000 points is the standard offer. A 175,000 point offer ended in Spring 2023. A 165,000 point offer ended on April 3, 2024.

  • Global Entry or TSA PreCheck Fee Credit of up to $100 every 4 years as reimbursement for the application fee charged to your card

This is a great way to earn some IHG points! I prefer this to the personal version of this card since it has less of an impact to your credit score and 5/24 status. You will get TSA Precheck or Global Entry, Platinum Elite status (which can give you room upgrades), and 4th night free when you book with points.

Some standard rooms with 2 Queen beds only list an occupancy = 3, will they allow 4 with 2/adult + 2/kids?
Any experience booking Hilton all inclusive with 2 adults and paying for children at check in?

I don’t have experience with it so you’d probably need to call the hotel to confirm. It doesn’t make sense that the occupancy would actually be only 3 in a 2 queen room.
