My Take

This card is the lower annual fee business card to help you earn a Companion Pass. The offer is also typically lower than on the Southwest® Rapid Rewards® Performance Business Credit Card. Compare the Southwest cards in our detailed card guide. It's the one I'd pick — and pair with one of the personal cards to get a Companion Pass. For best seating benefits, pair this with a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card.

Overall, you'll always need to pay attention to your timing when applying if you're trying to maximize the Companion Pass.

The standard offer on this card is 60,000 points after you spend $3,000 in 3 months. In Summer 2023, we saw an offer that also included a a higher tier bonus (but required an additional $12,000 of spending to get another 60k points). We saw a similar elevated offer for an additional 60k bonus points in summer 2024, but with a $15,000 spending requirement.
