Why this card might (or might not) be right for you.

If you can make use of the food credits at IHG properties and the airline credits, you’ll come out ahead even with the high annual fee. But it’s annoying those food credits are broken into quarterly credits which immediately makes this more effort.

You’d need to have a few planned IHG stays coming up in the next year so you can maximize the benefits.

I like the automatic Platinum Elite status (theoretically gives you access to get upgraded to suites) and the 20 Elite Night Credits each calendar year, which immediately unlocks the first Milestone Reward level. You could select confirmable suite upgrade as a perk but note that these confirmable upgrades can only be confirmed 14 days in advance.

As a long term keeper, makes the most sense for IHG loyalists.

Eligibility note: current terms indicate you ARE eligible for this even if you hold another IHG card. But not vice versa. That means if you have never had any IHG personal card, you're best off starting with one of the others and adding this later.
