Get up to $800 per claim and $1,000 per 12-month period in cell phone protection against covered theft or damage for cell phones listed on your monthly cell phone bill (when you pay your phone bill with the card). Maximum of 2 claims in a 12-month period with a $50 deductible per claim. Useful benefit that can offset a separate phone insurance fee.

Cash Back Tracked as Ultimate Rewards Points (1 Point = $0.01)

Cash back is technically tracked as Chase Ultimate Rewards points (1 point = $0.01). Without other Chase cards, points cap at 1 cpp. Pair it with a Chase Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, or Ink Business Preferred to transfer points 1:1 to Chase's airline/hotel partners (Hyatt, Air France-KLM, British Airways, etc.) or redeem through Chase Travel at boosted value (1.25x-2x cpp). When transferred, points can be worth around 2 cpp.

Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver (Secondary)

Charge the entire rental cost to your card and decline the rental company's collision insurance. Secondary coverage in the U.S. (your personal insurance pays first).

Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance

Reimbursement up to $1,500 per covered traveler and $6,000 per trip for prepaid, non-refundable passenger fares if your trip is canceled or cut short by sickness, severe weather or other covered situations.

Purchase Protection (120 Days, $500/Item) + Extended Warranty (+1 Year)

Purchase protection covers eligible new purchases for 120 days from the date of purchase against damage or theft, up to $500 per item. Extended warranty adds an additional year to eligible U.S. manufacturer's warranties of 3 years or less.

A great starter card from Chase mainly due to the bonus categories (5% back on rotating categories each quarter, on up to $1500 per quarter, 3% back on dining and drugstores).

Keep in mind that while this card is billed as earning cash back -- it technically earns a limited type of Chase Ultimate Rewards®. But you can combine these points with other Chase Ultimate Rewards cards to be used with transfer partners and booking travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards®. So this card is ideally paired with a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card.
