BONUS: Hotel Upgrade Request Email Template
Many hotels will upgrade you for free if you just ask nicely. Here are 5 tips for requesting an upgrade.
Knowing who to email can be the hardest part of requesting an upgrade. Do a Google or LinkedIn search of the hotel name + keywords like “room controller”, “reservation concierge”, or “general manager.” Once you have a name, find the email convention the hotel chain uses (for example firstname.lastname@hotelchain.com).
Are you celebrating something? Is this your first stay at the resort? Have you been there before? Tell them why you'll be there and what you're looking forward to.
Even if you don't have a high level status, mention what you have.
If you want something specific, let them know, but be realistic. Check out “Room Tips” on Trip Advisor for ideas. You might ask for a certain view, a balcony, or a specific room type.
