Building Your Personal Credit Card Strategy
Applying as a Stay at Home Mom
If you're a stay at home mom with no earned income of your own, you can still apply for credit cards and get approved.
The CARD Act allows credit card issuers to consider income that a stay-at-home applicant, who is 21 or older, shares with a spouse or partner when evaluating the applicant for a new account or increased credit limit.
This means that a stay at home mom can (and should) list total household income on credit card applications.
