If you like Marriott, this is a solid card to get and then hold on to — we find that the annual free night is easy to redeem at hotels that cost $250+ per night.

High annual fee on this card but you have a potential to get some great benefits, too. The automatic Platinum status makes you eligible for upgrades (if available) and the monthly restaurant credits are easy to use if you remember to use them. The free night certificate offers a lot of potential value each year, too.

Opening this business card versus one of the personal Marriott cards will help you stay under 5/24 longer and that's the main benefit of this card. I do like the annual free night certificate, too — and that you can top it off with up to 15k points.

The Southwest Plus Card is one of three personal Southwest credit cards offered by Chase. Note that you can only get one of the three at a time, and are only eligible for the bonus if you have not had another Southwest personal card bonus in the last 24 months. The Southwest Plus card has the lowest annual fee of the three.

I think the overall value is currently best on this one, comparing all the Southwest cards with their new higher annual fees. You can compare all the Southwest cards here.

This can be paired with a Business card to easily earn a Southwest Companion Pass and BOGO travel for even longer! This is my favorite of the Southwest credit cards due to the perks. You’ll easily make up the annual fee with the $75 Southwest credit (we use ours to pay our award taxes), anniversary bonus points, and 4 upgraded boardings.

This card really helps make it so easy to get a Southwest Companion Pass. Just pay close attention to your timing when applying if you’re trying to maximize the Companion Pass. It has some great perks like 4 upgraded boardings per year and a credit every 4 years for TSA Precheck or Global Entry.
