Why this card might (or might not) be right for you.

This card is targeted to frequent Alaska fliers, as you'd expect a premium airline card to be.

The lounge access it includes is a little more restrictive than I'd like with only 2 passes per quarter and no roll over. But that still would be enough for a family of up to 6 to get into the Alaska lounges at least once per quarter. Each pass lets you bring in 2 guests.

The annual 25,000 point Global Companion certificate is a strong benefit for people who will use it as it can even be topped off.

Ultimately every person would have to crunch the numbers on this card to see if it makes sense to keep it past the first year with that higher annual fee.
