This is a great way to earn Hilton points and not affect your 5/24 status! Hilton points are especially valuable when you can stay 5 nights — the 5th night will be free. You can also use them to stay at a lot of Small Luxury Hotels, independent hotels around the world.

That being said, Hilton has had some massive increases in price in the past few years so these points won't stretch as far as other programs.
