Why this card might (or might not) be right for you.
If you're a Choice loyalist who doesn't want to pay an annual fee, this version of the Choice Privileges card lets you pick up Gold status and 10 elite night credits each year just for keeping it open. The earning rates are lower than the Select version (5x at Choice vs. 10x, 3x on bonus categories vs. 5x), so this is more of a welcome-offer-and-sock-drawer card than a card you'd want to use.
Worth noting: you can't hold this AND the Select card at the same time. So if you're trying to maximize Choice points, the Select card with its $95 fee but 30,000 anniversary points + automatic Platinum status is usually the better long-term option.
