This is a great card to get now if you have room in your 5/24 count as it is slated to be discontinued in 2024. A great card to earn a lot of points with very minimal spend. When this offer hits 70,000 miles, that’s enough for a round trip ticket to Japan!

I love AA in particular for international flights. It’s not a card I keep long term (though you might want to if you find the free bags helpful). This card is issued by Barclays which generally likes you to be at 6/24 to get approved — but there are no strict terms on this.

You’ll find AA mentioned as a sweet spot on almost all of our regional guides like Japan, SouthEast Asia, and Africa.
