Hilton Timeshare Deal

Categories: Credit Card BenefitsBy Last Updated: December 2, 2025

Taking advantage of a timeshare solicitation deal can be a good way to save some money on a hotel stay.

The advertisements for these types of promotions may seem too good to be true, but the deal is actually pretty straightforward—you get to purchase a hotel stay at a discount, and in return, you agree to attend a timeshare presentation for the brand, where they will try to get you to purchase a timeshare.

I recently took advantage of a timeshare solicitation deal through Hilton Grand Vacations. In this post, I’ll tell you all about the experience to help you decide if one of these deals might be worth it for you.

Important note: While timeshare promotions for discounted stays can sometimes be worth it, actually purchasing a timeshare at a presentation is generally not recommended due to the long-term commitment and high cost of ownership. My goal here is to help you save money so you can travel more with your family, not go into debt!

Why Purchase a Timeshare Solicitation Deal

Timeshare solicitation deals can be a good way to save money on a vacation if you’re willing to sit through a 2-hour sales pitch. The offers usually include a steeply discounted hotel stay and may include other incentives like gift cards or bonus points.

Earning a significant amount of points that you can use for a future stay is a tempting incentive for those of us who like to travel on points!

Be aware, though, that the timeshare presentation will involve a high-pressure sales pitch. They will offer well-reasoned arguments for why you should buy what they’re offering, and many agents will keep arguing even after you say no multiple times.

If you are easily swayed or have a hard time saying no under pressure, this type of deal might not be for you!

Where to Find Timeshare Deals

Timeshare solicitation deals with Hilton Grand Vacations are offered all throughout the year. Offers change regularly and are sometimes targeted.

A quick Google search can help you find current offers. You can also find offers through the mail, in your email, or at Hilton hotels.

If you see an offer, you can always call and ask if there are additional offers available. Sometimes they may offer you different deals or better incentives over the phone.

Read the Fine Print

Be sure to read the fine print before purchasing any offer. It’s important to understand both what you’ll receive and what your obligation is.

When you purchase one of these timeshare deals, you’re agreeing to attend a timeshare presentation as part of the deal. If you don’t attend the presentation, you’ll be on the hook for the full retail cost of your stay

Note: This article is focused on my experience with Hilton Grand Vacations, but you can find offers with many other timeshare companies as well.

The Offer I purchased

The specific offer I purchased was available in spring 2025. The offer was to pay $149 for a 3-night stay, and I would receive 100,000 Hilton Honors points after attending a 2-hour timeshare presentation.

Before purchasing this type of offer with Hilton Grand Vacations, you can see a list of locations that are eligible for the stay. You don’t have to book the stay right away; it’s possible to purchase the deal and then book your hotel nights at a later date.

Usually, the stay needs to be completed within a year of when you purchase the offer.

The Booking Process

We waited several months after purchasing the offer before booking the stay. Hilton called a couple of times and sent us several e-mails encouraging us to complete the booking.

I’ve heard of some people waiting to book, then being offered more points to complete the booking, but I didn’t receive any offers like that.

When we were ready to book, the process was not as easy as I had expected.

The agents were not very friendly or informative. And they did not ask us about preferences or give us options. The offer we purchased included several locations.

We decided to book a stay in Orlando. We were not able to choose the exact hotel we would stay in, but were assigned a property based on availability.

Rescheduling

A while after booking the stay, we decided to change the date. According to the terms and conditions, changes are allowed for a $19.95 fee.

It took multiple phone calls to get our dates changed. Again, we weren’t offered any choices on where to stay, but were assigned a hotel based on availability.

It took a few days for a confirmation e-mail to come through after the change, which was a bit unsettling because we weren’t confident that the change had been successfully completed, even after speaking to multiple sales agents.

Scheduling the Timeshare Presentation Appointment

The appointment for your timeshare presentation is booked at the same time as you book the hotel stay. I did appreciate being able to book this in advance because I know with some other timeshare companies, you don’t know when your appointment is until you arrive.

It was much easier to plan our trip knowing when we would have this appointment.

Much like booking the actual hotel stay, you can give your preferences, but you can’t pick your appointment day or time. The presentation also cannot be on check-in or check-out days.

We asked for an appointment as early in the day as possible, and were given a timeslot at 9:00 am. However, we did not get an appointment on our preferred day.

The Hotel Stay

We stayed at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs. The hotel is just a few minutes walk to Disney Springs, which was very convenient. At check-in, we were given a booklet full of coupons for stores and restaurants in Disney Springs.

The hotel is considered a Disney Good Neighbor hotel with early entry benefits to the Disney World parks. The hotel also offers a shuttle to the Disney parks, which is a nice perk if you’re planning to visit Disney during your stay.

We were booked in a standard 2-queen room. It was a bit tight for 2 adults and 2 kids, but it was fine for 3 nights.

The Timeshare Presentation Experience

Check in

When you arrive, you’ll head to the sales center and check in for your presentation. The exact experience varies depending on where you have the presentation.

Several people were ahead of us in line, but the check-in process was fairly quick and smooth.

After checking in, we were directed to a waiting area with light snacks, coffee, and fountain drinks. There were tables and chairs, but the area was quite crowded, and there was nowhere for our family to sit while we waited for the sales agent.

Getting to Know Your Sales Agent

Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long until our sales agent came and greeted us. The sales agent will spend some time chatting with you to get to know you a little bit and try to build some rapport. They’ll give you some general information about the presentation and ask you to keep an open mind.

The Presentation

After talking with our agent for a while, he showed us into a large room with several other guests. When the room was full, one of the employees gave a 30-minute slideshow presentation on the perks and benefits of ownership with Hilton Grand Vacations.

The presentation included some of the more aspirational places you can go as a timeshare owner (Paris, Tokyo, Sydney), and why ownership is so great, but mentioned very little about the actual costs involved.

After the presentation, guests met with their individual sales agents at private desks.

At this point, the sales agent will ask you lots of questions as they continue to solicit a sale. They asked us how many nights we currently stay in hotels, and how much we spend. Then they compared that total to how much we would pay per year as timeshare owners (conveniently leaving out many of the actual costs involved).

They will also take you on a tour of the type of rooms you can expect to stay in as a timeshare owner.

Our sales agent spent a lot of time talking up the benefits of timeshare ownership while dancing around the actual costs involved.

The Hard Sell

When we did finally get to the financial part, there was a lot of pressure to buy. Now, your exact experience may vary, but the whole point of the presentation is to solicit a sale, so they are certainly going to try!

When we said no, multiple other people came to speak to us. They kept trying to convince us why we should buy it with varying sales pitches and offers.

It felt a little bit like good cop, bad cop. Some of the salespeople were nice and easy-going, but some were very pushy and borderline rude. Be prepared for a hard sell and don’t commit to anything you’re not comfortable with!

We kept saying no, and eventually they said that was it, and we could go.

Checking Out

Once you’re done speaking to the sales agents, you’ll head to checkout.

Checking out is important because it’s how you verify that you stayed for the entire presentation and fulfilled your part of the agreement. This is also where you get any points, cash back, or gift cards that were part of the package, so you don’t want to skip it!

How Long Does it Actually Take

This can vary depending on where you have your presentation and the sales agent you speak with. When you purchase a timeshare offer, you agree to attend a 2-hour presentation. My experience was closer to 3 hours.

We arrived right at 9:00 am for our presentation, and we were walking away at 11:43 am.

Most of the people in line to check out were the same people in line with us to check in. It seems that our experience was quite average for the location (at least on that day).

Tips for Getting Out of a Timeshare Presentation Fast

Important Things to Know

Transportation is not included

Your hotel stay won’t be in the same place as your timeshare presentation, and transportation is not included. You’ll have to find your own way to get from the hotel to the sales center for the presentation.

Parking isn’t included

If the hotel where you stay charges fees to park, you’ll be responsible for paying those fees as well.

If married, you must attend together

If married or living together, both partners must attend the presentation. This is part of the agreement you make when you buy a timeshare solicitation deal, and there’s no way out of it. They will check your ID at check-in to verify your identity.

Kids are welcome

Kids are allowed to attend the presentation with you. After all, if you’re on vacation, you can’t just leave young kids in the room at a different hotel!

At the presentation we attended, the employees were considerate of families, and it was no problem at all having our kids with us. There were snacks and drinks available, they were understanding if parents with kids needed to step out for a moment, and they ensured we all had enough space and chairs the entire time.

You must stay for the whole presentation

When you purchase a timeshare solicitation deal, you agree to stay for the entire two hours. You won’t get any incentives if you leave early, and the fine print states that you’ll be charged in full for the retail cost of the stay.

If the presentation runs long, it’s perfectly reasonable to say that you have fulfilled your commitment and you need to go.

Was it Worth it?

All in, we spent $149 for the 3-night stay and about $30 for a rideshare to and from the sales center. We spent about 3 1/2 hours (including the time it took to get to and from the sales center), and we received 100,000 Hilton points on completion of the presentation.

The sales agent was friendly, and the presentation wasn’t too unpleasant. Although they were very pushy at the end and tried hard to keep us there until we agreed to purchase something.

We were firm and kept saying no. It helps to have a plan for how you are going to respond. We told them buying a timeshare doesn’t make financial sense for us. Then we explained that we use points to pay for most of our travel instead.

Would I do it again?

Overall, it’s not a bad deal at all. We didn’t mind using a morning to get a cheap hotel stay and earn some points for a future stay. I’m working on earning Hilton points for a particular stay, and this deal helped us reach that goal.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s not the most fun way to spend a morning of vacation, but it wasn’t bad either. I do feel like the points we earned were worth it. That being said, that doesn’t mean this type of deal will be worth it to everybody.

Before you purchase a timeshare solicitation deal, make sure you’re ready to attend a high-pressure sales pitch! Consider the incentives being offered and whether or not it’s worth your time to attend the presentation. If not, there are plenty of other ways to save money on travel with points!
